Mother Teresa's "Do It Anyway"

Oh my, I will be a year older this month. Time is so fast, and it seems like I haven't done enough in my life.

By the way, have you, by any chances, experienced you want to give someone something, but hesitate to give it to him/her because you are afraid people might criticize you? I mean, sometimes I could feel that when I give alms to those in need, people would look at me and criticize me because for them, those people should work for their own sake.

Whew! Anyway, I would like to share this quote from Mother Teresa. This is one of my favorite quotes from her and this one really help me to uplift my spirit, especially when dealing with unfavorable circumstances, like the one I've mentioned above. So, here it is. Enjoy.

"Do It Anyway"

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;

It was never between you and them anyway.

  1. Yes, do it anyway. Mahilig ksi tayong mga Pilipino sa "bahala na si Batman" term, hehehe.

    In doing good, we can apply the "bahala na si batman". Batman will be honored.

  5. Every Sunday, I often hear the statement "God loves a cheerful giver." Mother Teresa is an epitome of a cheerful giver. She spent almost her entire life serving others. She's really great!
